Castle in Action - 12 July 11am- 5pm
Take a step back in time with this fascinating and fun look at historic life in the atmospheric ruins of the Norman Castle. See battles and re-enactments, take part in craft workshops, feast on farmer Copley's famous hog roast, peruse historic craft stalls and living history camps, or visit Ridgeside Falconry with their wonderful collection of birds of prey. Its free, its fun and its all day long!
2Z Promotions - Bailey
2Z Promotions bring history to life and re-create life in the age of chivalry with knights in full armour and battle. From their tented living history village and in the arena, 2Z deliver ongoing and informal demonstrations throughout the day, providing the very best re-enactments and living history experiences for all to enjoy.
The Holderness Vikings - Bailey
The Holderness Vikings depict life from the Early Medieval Period - roughly from the time of Alfred the Great to Richard the Lionheart. Their authentic portrayal and a reputation for accuracy, produces exciting battle demonstrations, coin striking, living history displays and children's battle drills.
Ridgeside Falconry - Bailey
Ridgeside Falconry is the largest mobile display team in the Country presenting a wide range of Birds of Prey in an extensive static display as well as demonstrations and spectacular free flying displays where the public are encouraged to become involved and handle the birds.

Buses depart at: 10.45am, 12.15pm, 1.45pm, 3.15pm and 4.45pm.
Take the bus from the Castle Gates to one of Pontefract's oldest liquorice farms where you will be entertained and amused by one of Tom Dixon's famous liquorice talks.
Castle and Magazine Tour

Half hour tours departing at: 11am, 1.30pm and 3.15pm.
Soak up the histories and stories as you follow a leisurely walk around the ruins of Pontefract castle, see a scale model of the castle as it was in medieval times and enjoy a rare guided visit to the underground magazine.
